Hope you all had a wonderful Valentine’s Day!  I spent the day partying it up with my kids at their daycare.  I decided to make something that all the kids would want to keep.  So I made these adorable bags with their names on them.  I put a few Hershey Kisses in and some temporary tattoos.  These were so easy to make.  The hardest part was deciding what to put on them.  I was going to theme them with hearts and “love” sayings but then changed my mind so the kids could use them all the time.  The boys got dinosaurs, girls got hearts, and teachers got “thanks a bunch”.

I used the muslin bags from Close to My Heart.  They come in packs of 3 for $3.95.  If you want to stamp something on them you need to use a pigment ink.  I used Sunset for the dinos and Hollyhock for the hearts.  The pigment ink dries very fast on the muslin bags.  I can not stress enough how wonderful the alphabet stamp set is… “a typeface”.  If you ever want to personalize treat bags or anything small you MUST have this one… especially for only $6.95!

I also used the new stamp set “Oodles of Doodles” to make the labels and since it’s cricut compatible with the Artiste cartridge it only took 2 minutes to cut all 22 labels.

Now that Halloween is done and we’re preparing for Thanksgiving I wanted to share my autumn layouts with you all.  Our Huntington paper is perfect for this time of year.  The pictures of my layouts don’t do them justice.  The paper is beautiful.  Using the Huntington Workshop on the Go kit I put the first layout together with the included directions.  The instructions for the second layout can be found on the close to my heart website.  They are so easy to follow.  They even give you the instructions to cut the paper so that you conserve your paper!

Keep stopping by because I’ll be posting lots of holiday artwork and also some different projects that you will be able to purchase.

I saw this idea and I had to try it!  So while I was working on it I decided to make a tutorial for you.  This was such a fun and easy project.  In fact I had loved it so much I did the Halloween wreath and decided to make a Christmas wreath too!

For the Halloween wreath I used a retired Close to My Heart paper packet.  I used 4 pieces of paper and cut ½ inch strips…. Make sure that if you have a striped paper like below that you cut it so the stripes go up.  If you cut them going down then the paper doesn’t curl right.

Next you curl the paper by holding the middle and curling each side separately away from the middle.

Then using straight pins you pin the curls to a Styrofoam wreath.  Then I just pinned a ribbon to the back using several straight pins.  You can even fluff the curls to make it nice and full.

So here is the finished wreath for Halloween and Christmas.  I wish I had used more reds in the Christmas wreath but I was saving it for some other projects.  I used our Sparkle and Shine paper packet and the Frosted paper packet to make it.  I also used the stamp from the Sparkle and Shine Workshop on the Go.  It coordinates with our Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge so I didn’t have to cut out the shape.

Today I wanted to share my follow-up to the zoo invite.  Here’s our Zoo party thank you card.  We only had 6 families that came to my daughter’s party.  I thought it would be great to give everyone a copy of all the pics we took during the party.  So using my cricut I made a really neat thank you card CD holder!  I love our cricut cartridges more and more every day 🙂

I used the cricut Artiste cartridge for the envelope and the thanks shape.  I also used the Artbooking cartridge to make the lion and giraffe shapes.  I sponged the flap with gypsy.  I also have to tell you that I love our special stamp this month.  That’s where the sentiment came from.  Right now you can get this awesome stamp set for only $10 when you place a $50 order.
